The Pyro Bright Flash timing system uses the equipment below to produce the simplest, most reliable, most affordable timing system available anywhere.

How it works...
At the beginning of the race, the timer is aimed at the starting pistol, and is automatically triggered by the flash of the Pyro Bright Flash starter's cartridges. A video camera is located at the finish line and photographs each runner as they cross. The timing interface adds time information to the video and is recorded and read within a computer using specialized timing software.

All of the timing operations can be performed in the press box or some other suitable area. The only requirement is that this location has a clear line of sight view of the starter pistol. No timers, judges, or scaffolding are needed to clutter up the finish line area. These best seats can be used for coaches, athletes and spectators. A press box provides an ideal location, as it is normally protected from weather and it gives a closed in location for viewing the video picture.
